When we are sick, or struggling, or someone we love is going through something difficult, it is so important to remember that Jesus heals!
There are so many stories in the Bible that talk about Jesus’ healing power and his love and compassion for sick and hurting people. In fact in Matthew 14:14 it says, “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
This craft is easy to make and a perfect craft to use with any number of stories about Jesus’ healing miracles.
Supplies:
Begin by allowing your child to cut out their 2 hearts.
Glue the smaller heart inside the larger heart.
Create a cross with two standard sized bandaids at the center of your heart. Write on top of your cross- “Jesus heals!”
The miniature bandaids can be used in two ways:
1- Who do I want to pray that God will heal? Have your child write down the names of the people they want God to heal on each of the small bandaids.
2- What do I need healing for? We talked about how our hearts need healing sometimes, and how Jesus wants to heal the parts of our heart that are hurting. Some of the things that the kids said were healing from anger. I have anger in my heart, and I want to pray for healing. Sadness was another one. God is interested not only in healing our bodies, but also in healing our hearts!
Here are a few of the miracles of healing that Jesus did that you could share as a story when doing this craft:
Jesus has compassion on you in your time of need!
