Christmas has come to and end and New Year’s Day has arrived. A new year has officially begun. Sometimes I wish that the Christmas decorations and lights could stay up a little longer … after all, winter has only just begun and there are many more grey, cold days ahead. Something to brighten up those dreary winter days.
This Snowflake pastry puff is a fun way to keep being festive!
Begin by grating the ingredients finely. You don’t need much of any ingredient. I used two slices of prosciutto and enough mozzarella to lightly cover the filo dough.
Add a little bit of parmesean cheese for flavor. Place the second piece of filo dough on top of your first layer and ingredients.
Place a glass in the middle of your filo dough and make a light imprint.
Using a pizza cutter slice from the edge of your dough to the center of your circle imprint. Cut 16 triangles ending your cut just because your circle imprint.
Now fold two slices towards each other, twisting twice and connecting the end of the slice together into one piece (see photo).
Continue connecting all of your slices so that you have 8 sides to your snowflake.
Bake you pastry puff according to the instructions on the package. I baked mine at 180°C for approximately 10-15 minutes.
The snowflake is easy to eat at a party because each guest can pull off a corner of the snowflake, or you can use a pizza cutter to cut it into 16 slices.
Enjoy! And happy New Year!
